iPhone 5 - 10 Megapixel Camera

The iPhone 4 can shoot 720p HD video, but it's camera is still a lousy 5 mega pixels. The quality of iPhone 4 still shots are typical for most smart phones. The next iPhone needs to have a jaw-dropping feature that makes it stand out in the sea of iPhone clone touch screen smart phones that buyers our offered. For the iPhone 3G the jaw-dropping feature was the ability to access AT&T's 3G network. For the iPhone 3G S the big "W0w" feature was the ability to recorded video (and the addition of a faster processor). The iPhone 4's really awesome features included a higher resolution display, slicker design, and the ability to recorded HD video. What will be the jaw-dropping feature for the iPhone 5?

A 10 mega pixel camera may be one of the main features for the iPhone 5. What else could Apple improve? Not much. Maybe give it a faster processor? Or a super extra strong battery that actually lasts more than 3 hours? I dream on. That leaves the lousy 5 mega pixel camera. A 10 mega pixel camera would be a great improvement for iPhone. However, some folks might hope for more than just a camera update. Some might fantasize about super mega-battery's, and others might hope for extra pixels. The fact is that no one will know what jaw-dropping feature will be announced quite yet, we will just have to wait until a iPhone 5 prototype shows up in a bar.

iPad 2 May Dominate All Competition

The heat is on. Not very long ago the iPad was one of the only touch-screen tablets on the market. Now, there are dozens of other tablets in competition. The Samsung Galaxy Tab, BlackBerry PlayBook, HP Slate 500, Toshiba Libretto, ViewSonic ViewPad 100, LG Android tablet, MSI WindPad 100, NEC LifeTouch, Nefonie WeTab, and many others are all in direct competition with the Apple iPad.

There are rumors of iPad 2 being announced this January or February with a release date in April. Is it a possibility that the iPad 2 will not sell many units because of the overwhelming competition? Some BlackBerry fans would say that the iPad 2 has no chance. They would say that the iPad is old news. Some say that the iPad is mainly used for domestic use, and that the other tablets will take over the enterprise market completely. The tablet competitors have aimed their marketing at enterprise. If they can take over enterprise, they have a much higher chance of taking over the domestic market also. I disagree with the BlackBerry fans.

The fact of the matter is that the iPad has a huge following. The iPad is the leading tablet on the market, and with the release of the iPad 2 I expect that the following will grow. The iPhone has had many competitors but it is still on top. I feel that the iPad will also overcome it's fierce competition.

Jan. 6 - iWork '11 Released?

The fact is that a update to iWork is needed. The apps are great - but they need to keep up with Microsoft at a quick pace. And from what people are saying, a major update for iWork is near. On Jan. 6th last year iWork '09 was released. On Jan 6th 2011 iWork '11 is rumored to appear in both retail and online Apple stores. This would be a great move for Apple to keep closing in on Microsoft's Office suite. Could Apple make the mistake of delaying the release? Only Jobs knows. But Apple has had a track record for delaying products, for example, the notorious white iPhone. I would expect iWork '11 on Jan. 6 and I would recommend holding off on buying the suite until then.

iPhone Nano To Be Released at MacWorld

There have been some pretty cool iPhone rumors in the past, but this one beats them all. At MacWorld 2009, the last MacWorld expo that Apple will be attending, they will release the iPhone Nano. The iPhone Nano will be smaller and lighter, with a 2 inch screen. I will have a 1 meg camera and will come in 5 colors. This iPhone will be super thin, and will support full 3G networking. The iPhone Nano will come in 4GB and 8GB modals. Why will people really want to buy the iPhone Nano? It will be cheap. I don't know how much exactly, but it will be very cheap. It will fully support the app store.

Can't wait till MacWorld 2009.

QuickSilver: An Amazing Free App

QuickSilver is one of the most amazing apps I have ever used. With just a couple taps on the keyboard you can find anything on your computer. I mean anything. All you have to do is tap a key of your choice, and then a window pops up. Then start typing what App you want to open and it will search your computer and bring it up. Instead of using Finder, you use this, and it takes 5 times as fast. It also can go through you bookmarks in your browser and let you go straight to that site. Now that I have the program, it would be hard to use a mac without it.

How Much Does the iPhone 3G Cost to Build?

According to iSuppli, the 3G iPhone costs $173 to make. That's crazy!! The old iPhone had cost $226 to make, and the new iPhone even has 3G technology and a GPS installed! Apple is defiantly making a profit off of the new iPhone. On top of that, AT&T is paying Apple $300 for each iPhone bought! And we thought that lowering the price of the iPhone 3G to $200 was a big deal. They are making approximately a $330 profit on the 8GB iPhone. And a $430 profit on the 16GB. Crazy.

Camino

Camino is a great browser made by Mozilla, and I use it all the time. I has a really good interface, and is is really fast. I would guess that it is twice as as as other browsers. It is Mac only, so the design is tailored for OS X.

Will the iPhone 3G Kill the iPod?

You would think that a product with less features would make the product less expensive, but that is not what has happened with the 3G iPhone. The iPhone is $199 for the 8 gig model. The iPod nano is $199 also. That means that a phone with a touchscreen display, built in iPod, built in GPS, and tons more features, is the same price as a music player that is made buy the same company. Will people realize this and abandon the iPod line? Only time will tell.

iPhone 3G

As you might know the 3G iPhone came out, and it's half the price as it was before. It will come out in July, and I bet tons of people will buy it, since it is so cheap. Only $199.

I think that with the full GPS, 3G, and redesigned interface, that the iPhone 3G would be a good buy. You could always wait for the next one, with will have much more features.

WWDC in one week

WWDC 08 is in one week, and I bet we all can't wait for it to come. The new MacBook rumors have died down, and the new hot topic is about a 3G iPhone. This iPhone will be relesed at WWDC, and I think that this one is true. This iPhone will have a GPS, front facing camara, and may come in two colors, black and white. And of course, it will have 3G.

3G iPhone Rumors: Instant Messaging Patent

Apple filed a patent for a instant massaging app for the iPhone. I would not be too much different from the SMS app on the iPhone now, except it would have word suggestions. This patent may never reach the iPhone, but if it did, iPhone users would love the new app. It would probably appear on the 3G iPhone, when the software 2.0 is released.

Apple Opens New Stores

Apple has just opened two new stores in New York. At first we were not sure, but now it has been confirmed. Apple has a lot of stores in New York, so why more? We don't know. Well that's all I can say for today.

New MacBook Mockups look HOT!!!!!

The rumor about the release of the new MacBooks at WWDC is heating up. There are now some really nice mockups out there like the one above. If they are going to look like the picture shows, then there are some really hot Macs coming our way. Apple has even sent for aluminum casings, so chances are that this rumor is true. Can't wait to see the real design and to see what their new MacBook pros look like.

Proof That Macs are Better Than PCs

As we all know, Leopard OS X running on a mac is super speedy, and Macs have always been good at pure speed and power. PCs, however, are slow when running Windows, compared to a Mac. Also, Macs come with iLife 08, an amazing suite packed full of fun. But we have all heard this. The last straw to proving that a mac is better than a PC is a resent test that found that Windows Vista runs better, and much faster on a Mac. The speed tests for the Mac beat the PCs, both on a laptop and a desktop. So now we know for sure that Macs are better than PCs.

Apple Has Taken 6.6% of the Computer Market

Apple has shipped more than 1.1 million mac computers in the quarter, and has taken 6.6% of the PC market in the United States. Some studies show that Apple is the fastest growing computer company today. This is a big leap for Apple, and I think that that number will keep growing as the months go by.

Is Amazon Competition For Apple?

Amazon has now surpassed Wal-Mart and other online music selling company's, and is now second biggest seller of music files in the US. With Apple #1, will Amazon overtake iTunes? Only time will tell, but it looks like it will be a long time, with the iPod line doing well.

Apple and Starbucks: Pick of the Week

Apple and Starbucks have launched the Pick Of The Week, where you can get a cheap card and use it to buy songs that Starbucks picks out. There would be a new song every Tuesday, and now that you can buy music with the WiFi music store on iPhone's or iPod touch's, it would be very convenient. The Apple, Starbucks partnership is growing nicely, and I hope to see more in the future.
